Blank Bale Shooting

All of us Archers at any given time have fallen victim to inconsistencys in our shooting. The motivation behind this article was from form/mechanics issues that crept into my game.  Not only form issues that arise, but also getting to that next level in consistency and accuracy oftentimes eludes us for far to long.   How do we get thru it?

Blank Bale shooting is the answer!  I've been fortunate enough to travel with and be coached by the best in the business, they blank bale and so should you and I!

Blank Bale or Blind Bale as some refer to it as, it just that.  Stand in front of a target and shoot just concentrating on whatever is ailing you. For me its been my bow arm. So after setting my shot up, I'll close my eyes and just feel the bow arm relaxed and being driven forward as the release is getting pulled backwards..  I'll feel the bow explode forward upon the release firing.  While it takes a few sessions to clean up the form flaws, I've seen as little as 5 shots at the blank bale temporarily work..

More form and archery tips will be shared from time to time on our blog!

XFire Bowstring Shooter Lisa Scott took 3rd in the Womens Hunter Class

Whitetail Outpost Staff Shooters with their new Atomic Archery Jerseys..
XFire Shooter Bobby Smith tied for the lead with 295 ended up in 2nd after the shootoff.. Great score on a tough course!
XFire ProStaff Shooter Joe Magrogan with the win in the Hunter Class with a 299! Joe also won the new Hoyt CRX with a clean round in the Iron Buck competition.
Here I am trying to spread the word about yardage judging in 3D....  Over the years, it seems like folks get out of shooting 3d because frustration over yardage judging. I always like to help people learn about it, once you understand the basics and practice it as much as you practice shooting, it becomes easier with time..
XFire Pro Staffer Joe Magrogan winning the Iron Buck challenge! Note.....to the folks at Whitetail Outpost...  and Danny Calloway especially, That is the coolest Iron Buck I've ever seen! Good Job!!
XFire Pro Staffer Brendon Low from upstate DE with his 3rd place in the Open division..

Congrats to Shore Country Archery/Strings shooter Andrew Farrow on his win in the open class!

Easy tips to maintaining your D Loop!

The last thing you want to do after your bow is shooting perfect is to replace the D loop! It's the center of all things right with your bow!

I always purchase high quality release aids, but even high quality releases will often have micro burrs around the contact area with your dloop...  Sometimes it takes a month or longer for the burrs to finally make enough of a small mess inside the fibers to cause fraying..  I've seen as little as 10 shots cause burrs with new releases..

Instead of the shipping hassles involved it, fix it yourself in as little as 5 minutes...
All you need is a rotary tool...craftsman,dremel etc. with a little soft polishing brush attachment..
A block of Jewelers Rouge (came with a knife sharpener) but you should be able to google some and find it quickly!!

and alcohol or acetone and  a Q Tip to clean the residual Rouge off the release calipers or dloop attachment.
Just polish away and you'll remove any micro burr that will over time cut into and fray your Dloop..   Also I like to put a little silicone based bowstring wax on my loop as well..
