Hold your bow steadier? Check your foot position!!

At my first state championship years ago, tournament nerves set in early and I couldn't hold the bow as steady as in practice! The guy next to me told me, "not holding good? shuffle your feet". A tip that at the time I ignored, but later realized how important it was to holding the bow steady..
Your feet are your base of support, they are your foundation to a steady shooting platform..  They should be shoulders width apart and directly under your shoulders.  More important than a stable shooting platform is the position of your feet! By opening or closing your stance in relationship to the target, you'll put your body in a position to be stronger at full draw. Your push and pull will be lined up and you'll notice a steadier pin..  Now every change you experiment with in your stance will also make the draw feel shorter or longer. Which is another key to holding steady!  Start with your feet first, find out what works for you, then adjust your draw length and you'll be holding grouping better..
